The Heartbleeders

The Heartbleeders is a Irish and American traditional music-inspired trio from Portland, OR. The band consists of Elizabeth Nicholson on harp, guitar, and vocals; her long-time (25 years!) duo partner Bob Soper on fiddle, guitar and vocals; and Rylan Suehisa on bodhran, guitar and vocals.   Their repertoire often highlights themes of class struggle, environmental justice, peace, and anti-colonialism.  They play frequently around Portland, both for public and private events.  

The band also has the unique shape-shifting ability to shut up about politics and just play fun Irish and American traditional music.  So if you'd like to hire them for your wedding without infuriating your MAGA relatives, they can probably pull that off, too.

Band members also try to make themselves available on a pro-bono basis for fundraisers for activist and volunteer organizations whose missions they support.  Please feel free to inquire if you're interested in having them perform at your event.
